WICE Logistics Public Company Limited (WICE) places great importance on efficient resource utilization and minimizing environmental impact across the entire value chain. The Company adopts the Circular Economy concept as a systematic framework for resource management.
The activity “Go Green with WICE – Seeing Through Touch: Old Calendars, New Value, Creating Sustainable Braille Materials” is one of the projects that clearly demonstrates this concept in practice.
This activity was driven by the participation of all employees through the Go Green with Buddy: Return & Receive initiative, which encouraged the exchange of old calendars for new ones while sharing goodwill among colleagues. Employees brought unused old calendars to exchange for new calendars, which were given as New Year gifts to their Buddies. The collected old calendars were then gathered by company representatives and donated to the Foundation for the Blind in Thailand under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty the Queen, to be transformed into Braille educational materials.
This project serves as a strong example of returning paper resources back into the usage cycle, extending material life, reducing waste, and avoiding traditional end-of-life disposal. It also reflects the principle of Resource Efficiency by reducing the demand for new raw materials, decreasing reliance on natural resources, and lowering the energy and resources required in paper production. This leads to more efficient resource utilization throughout the material life cycle.
Furthermore, repurposing high-quality paper into Braille learning media represents value creation from waste, while simultaneously generating positive social impact. The project supports access to information, learning opportunities, and equality for people with visual impairments.
This initiative therefore reflects WICE’s strong commitment to driving its business through Circular Economy principles, emphasizing responsible resource use, environmental impact reduction, and the creation of shared value across economic, social, and environmental dimensions in a truly sustainable way.
